Paolo: “Estamos listos para comenzar el Álbum V”

¡Buenas noticias!

Pese a que aún no hay fecha inicial de las grabaciones (ni mucho menos de la salida del nuevo álbum de Trivium), Paolo Gregoletto nos actualizó con lo más reciente de la banda a través de su Twitter y Facebook:



Facebook: “Después de 8 meses de pre-producción y casi año y medio de estar escribiendo, estamos finalmente listos para comenzar el álbum número 5. Empacaremos nuestro equipo mañana y nos dirigiremos a la Tierra de Suecof.”

Twitter: “La Pre-Producción del álbum 5 ha terminado oficialmente. Fueron cerca de 8 meses en total.”

Parece ser que ahora sí por ahí de la próxima semana comenzarán formalmente las grabaciones del disco. Sigan pendientes de la información aquí en el blog o en Facebook, pero sobre todo en nuestro Twitter @trivium_mexico, donde publicamos en tiempo real lo que los chicos de Trivium van revelando :D

Grabando los Nuevos Demos, Pt. 2 + Meet & Greet con Trivium

Esta semana en TriviumWorld fue publicado el video de la segunda parte de la experiencia de grabar los demos nuevos para el quinto álbum. En él hacen su aparición Nick Augusto y Jason Suecof haciendo un bonito dueto :P

Grabando los Nuevos Demos, Pt.1

ADVERTENCIA: ¡Si después de leer este post no se unen a TriviumWorld, la verdad no sé qué los motivará a hacerlo! xD

¿La razón?

¡Porque los que ya pertenecemos al Club Oficial tuvimos la dicha de escuchar unos segunditos de un demo-track que probablemente será incluido en el próximo álbum de Trivium! o.O

Solamente puedo decirles que los gritos de Matt se oyen fenomenales, y me han dejado con buen sabor de boca :D

En esta primera parte del video se observa a Nick, Corey y Jason Suecof trabajando en el demo, mientras Paolo graba. Mirando la imagen de abajo podrán darse una idea, y si ya son miembros podrán acceder al video dando click sobre ella:

Noticias sobre el bajo de Paolo + Trivium desde el estudio

Hace un rato visitaba el perfil de Facebook de Paolo, y que veo lo siguiente:

"Acabo de ver una foto de mi próximo Warlock (versión de 4 cuerdas), y se ve increíble."

Tengo entendido que tanto Corey como Paolo mostrarán sus nuevos modelos 'signature' en la convención anual de la NAMM que se llevará a cabo en enero del próximo año. En cuanto tengamos más información sobre ello se las comunicaremos. Mientras, pueden conocer las especificaciones del bajo Warlock B.C. Rich de Paolo aquí :)

En otros temas, en el Facebook Oficial de Trivium se publicó una fotografía donde podemos ver a Matt, Jason Suecof, Corey y Paolo en Audiohammer trabajando en revisiones de canciones y voces. Recordemos que por ahora la banda está en pre-producción de su Álbum V, y que no entran al estudio sino hasta diciembre.

¡Noticias sobre Nick Augusto: 1er Aniversario en Trivium + Tatuajes!

¡Hola!

Aquí Viry de nuevo. Por fin tenemos noticias relacionadas con el baterista de Trivium, Nick Augusto. La primera nota sobre él se refiere a una actualización en su perfil de Facebook donde nos dice lo siguiente:


Traducción:
"Grabaré algo de la batería hoy en Audio Hammer."

La segunda noticia sobre Nick es que visitando su Facebook vi algunas fotografías de sus tatuajes más recientes, sin embargo no quise publicarlas sin su consentimiento y le envié un mensaje a través de esa red social para que diera el visto bueno, a lo que él me respondió:


Traducción:
"¡No, se me hace totalmente 'cool', puedes compartir las fotos si quieres! :)"

Así que como ya tengo "permiso", acá se las comparto (den click a cada imagen para ver en tamaño real):

Como recordarán, Nick entró como suplente de Travis Smith para la gira 'Into The Mouth Of Hell We Tour', y posteriormente a principios de este 2010 fue nombrado como miembro permanente y oficial de Trivium. ¡Enhorabuena para Nick! :D

Metal Hammer & Gibson: Trivium en pre-producción con Jason Suecof + foto

Metal Hammer finalmente mencionó a Trivium en una de sus noticias más recientes, y nos informa lo siguiente:

Matt Heafy nos ofrece una actualización respecto a Trivium. ¡El 2011 va a ser un gran año para los chicos!
El líder de Trivium reveló en su Twitter que la banda estará una vez más trabajando en la pre-producción con su viejo colaborador, Jason Suecof:

“Voy a Audio Hammer con Trivium y Jason Suecof (Demo, Ember To Inferno, Ascendancy, Shogun, etc.) a hacer algo de magia.”

La banda ha estado trabajando duro en material para su próximo álbum desde que estuvieron de gira por el Reino Unido a principios de este año. Y ciertamente, la banda nos dijo que dejaron de lado los festivales musicales de este año para trabajar en nuevo material.

Se espera que las grabaciones comiencen el 1 de Diciembre con Colin Richardson (Slipknot, Bullet For My Valentine) y Martin “Ginge” Ford (Funeral For A Friend, Bullet For My Valentine) en las labores de producción.

Gibson, la marca que patrocina a Matt Heafy, también publicó información sobre el futuro de la banda:

El vocalista de Trivium Matt Heafy y el bajista Paolo Gregoletto han estado manteniendo al tanto a los fans respecto a los procesos de grabación de los demos y la pre-producción del nuevo álbum durante los pasados meses. Gregoletto dice que la banda actualmente se encuentra finalizando el proceso de pre-producción con el productor Jason Suecof (Chimaira, DevilDriver, God Forbid) en Audio Hammer antes de entregar las riendas a Richardson y Ford para el producto terminado. Suecof produjo Ascendancy (2005) y The Crusade (2006).

Heafy también ha confirmado que se está haciendo un DVD documentando el proceso de grabación.

El álbum será el primero de Trivium con su nuevo baterista, Nick Augusto, quien reemplazó a Travis a principios de año.

Charla de Paolo con Total Rock (traducción)

Sophie K de la estación de radio Total Rock (del Reino Unido) tuvo una entrevista con Paolo. Aquí transcribo de lo que platicaron:

~ Cuéntanos sobre tus inicios en Trivium:

"Me uní en el 2004. Ellos no tenían bajista en ese momento y me uní con la intención de experimentar el hecho de ir de gira, no pensaba que me quedaría como miembro permanente. Yo estaba grabando un demo con Jason Suecof, y él me los presentó unos años antes. Posteriormente me pidieron que me quedara."

~ ¿Fue para la gira con Machine Head, verdad?

"Así es. Participar con Machine Head fue 'cool'. Trivium ya tenía disquera y tener que ir de gira con Machine Head y Chimaira fue increíble. Me uní a ellos, aprendí mucho, todo funcionó bien y ahora aquí estamos."

~ La vida ha cambiado...

"Constantemente, ya que nos estamos moviendo todo el tiempo. Me gusta mucho, es un estilo de vida muy chido. Me gustan los cambios..."

~ ¿Y es glamoroso así como dicen?

"Algunas partes, sí y no. Mayormente es muy 'cool', soy tolerante. Mientras tenga un buen lugar donde dormir y comer, no me importa. Digo, en los vuelos vamos en clase turista. Imagínate, volamos cerca de 16 veces en 2 semanas. Si la persona 'normal' tuviera que hacer esto, ya se habría vuelto loca. Y durante los vuelos no me puedo sentar en medio, ya que me desespero. Tengo que ir al baño al menos cada 20 minutos. Me la paso tomando agua, es una especie de conducta compulsiva, pero solamente me pasa durante los vuelos. En el autobús no hay problema: con que tenga mi ligar en la parte media de la litera estoy bien."

~ ¿Qué sienten de ser llamados los chicos guapos del metal? ¿cómo se mantienen 'enterrados' para evitar el acoso de las chicas?

Se queda serio y pensativo, y luego de comentar que ya no tiene el sexy cabello largo, dice: "No sé, realmente no he pensado mucho en eso. Digo, incluso creo que a las chicas que les gusta nuestra banda creo que disfrutan más la música. No he conocido a alguien que nada más les gustemos solamente por la apariencia. Eso no me molesta, pero no estaría mal que hubiesen mujeres que lleguen a los límites del nivel de testosterona en los shows; por ejemplo durante nuestro tour junto a Slayer se notaban multitudes llenas de varones, como que las chicas no asisten a ese tipo de shows. Aunque tenemos suerte de que tenemos ese balance. Hay algunos metaleros están en la posición de 'solamente a las chicas les gusta ese tipo de música', refiriéndose a bandas como nosotros, porque a ellos no les gusta que digamos el tener diferentes tipos de personas escuchando su música. A mí me parece bien tener diferentes tipos de oyentes, tenemos la mente muy abierta y no somos elitistas en cuanto al metal o algo así."

~ ¿Qué tal la inclusión de Nick como baterista?

"Él ha estado en otras bandas anteriormente, y he tocado junto a Nick desde que tenía 6 años. Él fue la primera persona con quien toqué música. Tocamos en bandas juntos, pero fuimos en caminos separados, aunque siempre hemos sido buenos amigos. Él se fue a música más extrema, mientras yo me quedé en lo 'thrashy'. Posteriormente nos volvimos a topar. Él aprende rapidísimo, tiene una chispa creativa, y nos ha energizado. Somos una banda nueva porque una vez que se tiene alguien nuevo es una dinámica nueva también. Los 4 nos llevamos bien, nuestras personalidades encajan: ésa es la clave, ya que viajamos mucho y pasamos mucho tiempo juntos; y si no aguantas a alguien entonces eso no es algo bueno."

~ ¿Han comenzado a grabar algo para su nuevo disco?

"Hemos escrito durante hace ya casi un año; cuando nuestro último disco salió empezamos a salir con algunas ideas; las cosas han cambiado mucho desde entonces, pero hemos practicado durante las pruebas de sonido. Tenemos 3 canciones que son muy buenas. Matt ya les dio voz. Es 'cool' porque se volvió a la antigua forma de escribir las letras, parafraseando y así."

~ Si no te molesta decirme, ¿qué pasó con Travis?

"No es algo que pueda resumir en una sola cosa, ya que fue algo progresivo. La verdad no decimos mucho sobre ello, ya que pusimos el anuncio de que Nick sería el nuevo baterista. Simplemente con Travis ya no estábamos yendo tan bien como banda. Fue un cambio que tuvo que pasar para que Trivium sobreviviera y para que nosotros estuviéramos frescos y creativos de nuevo.
Travis tuvo muchos asuntos personales, por lo que no pudo estar en la segunda parte del tour por Norteamérica. La primera persona que se me vino a la mente fue Nick, quien había sido el técnico para Travis durante el verano; así es como Matt y Corey lo conocieron, y yo les dije: 'nunca han escuchado tocar a Nick, nada más lo conocen por este tour, pero les digo, denle una oportunidad, se quedarán sorprendidos de cómo toca.'
No tenemos que entrar en detalles de por qué Travis salió. Trivium ya no estaba funcionando bien y ése fue el cambio que tuvimos que hacer para que volviera a estar bien de nuevo."

SFL Music: Antes que nada, bienvenido a casa. ¿Qué sientes estar de vuelta en tu tierra una vez más?
Matt Heafy: Sí, es bueno estar de vuelta. Es increíble. Terminamos nuestro pre-show al de Florida, el cual fue en Bristol, Virginia; y esa mañana decidí comprar un vuelo para las 8 AM del día siguiente para ir a casa. Así que lo hice, me quedé en DC en casa de un amigo y volé a casa. Estaba en mi casa en Orlando a las 11:40 AM. Me pude quedar allí todo el día, y después me dirigí a donde sería el show esa noche. Buenos tiempos. Paolo es de Fort Lauderdale, así que fue como un show para nuestro lugar de origen. No fuimos a Orlando para el Mayhem Festival, pero estuvimos cerca. Es como poquito más de una hora manejando.

SFL Music: Es la primera vez que Trivium está en el Mayhem Festival, ¿cuál fue su acercamiento para formar parte de la gira?
Matt Heafy: Nuestros managers preguntaron a algunas de las bandas que tocaron el año pasado, entre ellas a Machine Head y como a ellos les gustó nos dijimos que lo haríamos. Somos buenos compañeros y de hecho tenemos la misma posición que ellos tuvieron el año pasado. Ahora Trivium ha estado en algunos de los festivales de hard rock y metal, como el Family Values y el Ozzfest.

SFL Music: ¿Cómo se compara la experiencia?
Matt Heafy: Honestamente, ha sido el tour más divertido en el que hemos estado. Hemos estado en casi cada festival que se puede por Norteamérica, y Mayhem ha sido el mejor de ellos. No voy a decir cuáles estuvieron mal y cuáles bien, pero ninguno se le acerca a éste. La vibra es completamente diferente. No es que nos tengan que agradecer por estar en su festival; éste es un festival donde cada quien se une por el mismo objetivo en común. Y es lo que creo que debería ser. Todos nos llevamos bien. Por lo general, todos están compartiendo juntos; uno hace amigos con la gente del staff y los fans. Es tan diferente. No sabía que el ir de gira podría ser así. Normalmente con cada tour de algún festival, hay tantas bandas alrededor que todas están evaluándose unas a las otras. Esta gira es nada más un montón de gente divirtiéndose.

SFL Music: ¿Hubieron bandas que esperabas ver?
Matt Heafy: Hemos ido de gira con cada banda que estuvo en el festival, así que las hemos visto a todas, pero como mucha gente habrá de saber, yo realmente ansiaba ver a Whitechapel. Nos volvimos amigos de ellos y ahora los vamos a llevar con nosotros a 2 de nuestros tours que vamos a hacer por Norteamérica a finales de este año. Quizá los llevemos a Europa también, el cual es el lugar mAs grande para nosotros.

SFL Music: Shogun es mucho más pesado comparado a su álbum anterior, The Crusade. ¿Fue una decisión consciente?
Matt Heafy: No fue necesariamente una decision de conciencia. The Crusade lo fue, ya que quisimos que fuera lo opuesto a Ascendancy. No queríamos que sonara como Ascendancy. Pero cuando llegó la hora para Shogun, quisimos que todo saliera naturalmente y que fuera una combinación de las mejores partes de todo lo que hemos hecho. Uno puede ver un poquito de The Crusade, un poquito de Ascendancy; y será un parte-aguas que indica hacia dónde nos dirigimos con el siguiente álbum.

SFL Music: En el 2004, Trivium fue una de las pocas bandas que tenIa la guitarra doble, aparte de Avenged Sevenfold y Atreyu. ¿Eso les hizo sentirse un poquito distante del resto de las bandas de metal de esa época?
Matt Heafy: En el 2005 o no sé qué año fue cuando muchas bandas empezaron a hacer algo similar a lo que nosotros estábamos haciendo; siempre hemos hecho lo que hemos estado haciendo desde que empezamos. Desde 1999 cuando empezamos por primera vez, tuvimos los solos de guitarra; y luego cuando Corey se unió a la banda en el 2003 fue que empezamos con los dúos de guitarra. Es simplemente algo que salió de oír a nuestras bandas favoritas, como Judas Priest, Testament y Iron Maiden. Ha sido un ingrediente que siempre ha estado ahí, y el cual me gustaría decir que siempre estará.

SFL Music: Ustedes van mucho de gira por Europa. ¿Sientes que las multitudes Europeas parecen aceptar más la música pesada que las de Estados Unidos?
Matt Heafy: Cada lugar del mundo es muy diferente. Inclusive de ciudad a ciudad en un estado como Florida, por ejemplo. Pienso que el show de hoy va a ser completamente diferente al de Tampa. Lo mismo va con el resto del mundo. Cada ciudad en la que estás, no importa dónde, va a ser diferente, e inclusive varía de una noche a la otra en un mismo lugar. Cuando se refiere a nuevos fans, sí, es diferente de país a país, estado a estado, y ciudad a ciudad. Cuando se refiere a gente que se vuelve fan de Trivium, por lo general es igual. Ellos son increíbles, cantando las letras de cada canción, y la vibra en nuestros shows es simplemente el hecho de divertirse. Tú sabes, no es tener una multitud violenta; es pasar un buen rato y compartir un amor común por la música que creamos. Hay otros lugares en el mundo donde a una banda como a la nuestra le puede ir mejor. Creo que somos la prueba viviente de que a una banda como Trivium le va mejor en ciertas partes del mundo que son más del tipo de la vieja escuela. En los Estados Unidos, la prensa escrita no necesariamente hace a una banda, es más el hecho de estar en la radio. La radio comercial, en particular, y televisión comercial. En cambio, en el resto del mundo, estar en la radio no importa una mierda. Tuvimos un single que fue número 1 en la radio para The Crusade, y eso ayudó, el álbum se volvió Plata; con Ascendancy no hubo un single que fue número 1 y aún así se volvió Oro. Así que uno nunca sabe cómo van a funcionar las cosas. Nunca hemos sido una banda que salga mucho al aire de manera comercial, lo cual hace más difícil a lo pequeño volverse grande, pero todos estos años al estar yendo de gira hemos podido ver cómo las cosas se levantan.

SFL Music: Empezaste a cantar más en The Crusade, pero también lo hiciste en el disco de Roadrunner United en "The End". La canción fue algo así del tipo radio-amigable, ¿han pensando en la banda desviarse hacia ese tipo de canciones?
Matt Heafy: De hecho, yo no escribí "The End", Dino Cazares de Fear Factory escribió la música y yo la letra. He estado trabajando en algunos proyectos paralelos. Obviamente haré otro disco de Capharnaum junto a Jason Suecof, la banda de death metal en la que también estoy, la cual es ridículamente una banda de death metal técnico. Pero igualmente he estado influenciado por Depeche Mode últimamente, así que probablemente haga un álbum con música que está algo entre esas líneas y Nine Inch Nails. Quiero que sea una propia cosa, música electrónica y voces. He estado trabajando en bastantes cosas de programación en Apple Logic, pero también me gustaría hacer algo así del tipo de acústico y folklórico. Solamente acústico, voces y nada más. Quiero irme por todos lados. Luego tengo esta otra idea de hacer un CD donde cada canción sea completamente diferente al género de música por cada distinto nombre de banda que invente. Por ejemplo, tengo una banda emo cuyo nombre es Tomorrow is Monday. Tengo esa canción en MySpace de cuando tenía como 16. Me llevó como una hora escribir y grabar esa rola emo. También tengo mi nombre de banda Black Label; el nombre traducido del Latín significa "El Ojo del Infierno."

SFL Music: En Shogun la banda parece estar yendo hacia hallar su propio sonido, donde las influencias sean menos obvias. ¿Adónde van desde aquí?
Matt Heafy: Adelante y hacia arriba. Estamos ya escribiendo nuestro próximo álbum y la idea básica es encontrar cuál es nuestro sonido porque creo que tenemos todo establecido, pero son cosas mezcladas que quizá no están completamente donde lo está la banda. Pienso en que si uno mira los coros de "Like Light To The Flies", eso es ya obviamente una marca registrada de Trivium. Grandes acordes en una guitarra, la armonía vocal y la melodía de la guitarra. Y también nuestros versos de death metal casi melódico, como en "When All Light Dies" de nuestro primer disco. Así que nuestro siguiente álbum va a tener el sonido Trivium, ya que estamos escribiendo las mejores canciones que podamos. Ese debería ser el objetivo de cada banda y cada disco, como que uno quisiera dar un salto monumental hacia el siguiente álbum.

SFL Music: ¿Cuáles son sus planes luego del Mayhem Fest?
Matt Heafy: Estoy tratando de pensar cuántos detalles debería darte. Luego de Mayhem, tendremos cerca de un mes libre antes de empezar nuestra gira como headliners a través de Norteamérica. Las primeras 2 partes las tendremos junto a Darkest Hour, Whitechapel y Dirge Within. Despues de eso tendremos 2 semanas libres antes de continuar la gira con Chimaira, Whitechapel y Dirge Within. Va a ser fantástico. De ahí tendremos libre Enero, y luego iremos a Australia, Asia, Reino Unido y Europa, todas como headliners. Luego empezaremos el siguiente disco.

SFL Music: Debo decirte que tu producción del álbum de Roadrunner United salió muy bien ¿Estás planeando producir el próximo álbum de Trivium?
Matt Heafy: No, nosotros queremos a Nick Raskulinecz a bordo de nuevo. El disco de Roadrunner United fue bastante divertido, realmente disfruté esa grabación. Fue genial hacer cosas que no fueran Trivium, y haber tenido la oportunidad de escribir y divertirme con black metal y punk, dos cosas que amo.

SFL Music: Al ser de Florida, un mercado muy difícil, ¿cuál es tu consejo para tu gente de Florida que está tratando de ser notada aquí?
Matt Heafy: Florida es jodidamente difícil por alguna razón. He notado eso, y puedes ver en este tour que el tipo de música que es más grande en Florida es el Pop. No me refiero al Pop del tipo Britney Spears, sino el tipo de rock pop de la radio, el pop country, el pop rap. Por alguna razón, Florida está estancada en eso ahora, y no sé por qué. Me gustaría hacer algo que ayude a sacarlo de ahí, pero siempre ha sido así. Incluso cuando era chico, algunas de las bandas de metal extremo nunca fueron a mi ciudad. Ahora, sí van pero tocan en los clubes más pequeños, pero hay algo y no sé qué es. La base de fans leales siempre ha estado con nosotros, especialmente aquí, y ellos han sido increíbles, y estamos orgullosos de que somos de aquí. Creo que ayer cuando estaba dando la vuelta por el anfiteatro, vi un montón de gente por el escenario principal, mientras bandas maravillosas tocaban en el segundo y tercer escenarios, con nadie molestándose en ir y checarlos. Si uno no le da oportunidad a otras bandas, uno podría ver a su banda favorita ese día, si simplemente le das cinco minutos de tu tiempo para escucharlos, en vez de andar vagando por ahí en un escenario que ni siquiera está abierto. La gente no debería ser tan elitista sobre el hecho de solamente querer a una banda o un tipo de música. Es la "actitud metalera" y uno simplemente tiene que darle una oportunidad a las cosas. La vida es muy corta para limitarte. No creas que es solamente algo típico de Florida, es algo que pasa en todo Estados Unidos, especialmente con el metal. Estoy siempre dispuesto para eso.
